Quality mark

The difference between marking and the quality mark is that the first is a self-declaration made by the manufacturer, while use of the second is granted to the manufacturer by an external agency that carries out regulatory checks and inspections.

For granting of the TUV mark (for the European market) or the ETL mark (for the American market), tests are made on the product, product documentation is checked, and production facilities are periodically visited to verify the maintenance of quality standards.

Checks on products and production conditions are made periodically with inspections.
